Gary Fleeger unloaded his golf clubs in the parking lot of the Sportsman’s Golf Course in Lower Paxton Twp. He kept a wary eye on the sodden skies, but said it was a good sign that the morning’s heavy rains seemed to have quit.

GR natives create national golf scramble (The Grand Rapids Press)

Wayne Stone, a PGA professional from Grand Rapids who is director of golf at Windermere Country Club near Orlando, Fla., and his wife, Jessica (Popiel), also a Grand Rapids native, are scrambling to keep a national scramble around for America’s golfers.
